What to expect in your first session with this dietitian?
My goal in our initial session is to get to know you as a person, your goals and your lifestyle. Nutrition needs to fit into your life and enhance it, not cause undue stress. I want to learn how you are motivated, they types of goals you like to set and what I can do to best assist you in your journey to be your best. My primary goal is to get clients feeling their best as we address your specific concerns. There is no such thing as a one size fits all nutrition plan, they need to be individualized to each person.

Approach to care

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 12 years of counseling experience, a Master's degree in Exercise Physiology, and certifications in sports nutrition as well as strength and conditioning. My inspiration to become a dietitian really came from my athletic background and love of food. I am a black belt in marital arts and grew up very athletic. To this day, I am an avid weightlifter and will be competing in a body building show soon. Additionally, health concerns run in my family - including Hashimoto’s disease, food allergies, hormone disruptions, early onset menopause and hypogonadism. Many people have a hard time with weight loss with these conditions, but I can tell you it is not impossible. As a dietitian, I specialize in working with clients who have been looking to feel and do their best. This can be by losing weight, improving performance or decreasing symptoms of an illness such as an autoimmune disease or diabetes. In my sports dietetics career, I have worked with a VERY wide variety of athletes, both professional and amateur including MMA, boxing, football, hockey, triathlon, marathon, and many others.

Hobbies

I enjoy learning first. I read and experience new things all of the time. I love to cook and experiment with new recipes that I enjoy and can help clients. Fitness is a huge part of my life. I compete and coach individuals in physique competitions. My family and my 2 cats are the best and I truly enjoy my time with them.

I truly believe food is what makes us function much like the gas in our cars. Without the proper fuel, we do not function or feel our best. My goal with clients is to get them feeling good and meeting their goals all while working with the challenges that life gives us. It is important to do what we can and work toward feeling great!
