What to expect in your first session with this dietitian?
Prior to our first session, I will send a couple of brief forms to gain an understanding of your goals and medical symptoms you are experiencing. Our first meeting will last an hour and we will co-create at wellness vision that is connected to long-term behavioral goals. This will serve as a lighthouse as we work together to optimize your health and wellness. Taking into account medical history, biometrics and desired health outcomes, we will create weekly, manageable and measurable goals so you have a clear understanding of how to support your wellness vision. I will provide education and resources on an ongoing basis to support your evolving health journey.

Approach to care

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 15 years of counseling experience. My passion for nutrition was ignited as a young teenager with my first job being in a hospital food service. I was captivated by the dietitian's intellect and compassion. I later found myself running often, and I fine-tuned fueling before, during and after runs and races to enhance my strength and speed. This, by far, was the game-changer that allowed me to qualify for the Boston Marathon in 2016. I have Bachelor's and Master's degree in nutrition and dietetics, and I am board certified in Integrative and Functional Nutrition. My specialty includes working with clients who have gastrointestinal issues and those looking to improve mood and mental health with food, nutrition and lifestyle modifications.

Hobbies

I value and love spending time being active. Having ran and qualified for the Boston marathon, I love how fueling our body well and training intentionally can be transformational. These days my activity centers around walking and hiking with my two large dogs and attending classes at my local YMCA. I love reading and spending time out in nature every chance I get. Mindfulness practices are a big part of my self-care routine. My family (which extends beyond my biological family to my neighbors and close friends) mean the world to me and we all love spending time together.

More About This Dietitian

I am passionate about coaching individuals as they find functional nutrition and lifestyle solutions for optimal health. Functional Nutrition stresses the intake of whole foods with micronutrient diversity to address clinical disturbances and help individuals live a vital life. Together we will establish your wellness vision and primary goals using mindfulness strategies and a growth mindset to support you on your journey.

Tami is a great listener and coach and uses her background in functional medicine to broaden her approach to nutritional counseling.
