Approach to care
I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with a degree in exercise science, a graduate degree in nutrition & dietetics, and over 7 years of outpatient counseling experience. I am also a NASM certified personal trainer for over 10 years. Personally, my father was overweight with cardiovascular disease most of my life until he passed when I was 19 years old. I saw how eating negatively impacted his health and I wanted to be able to help others succeed with losing weight, improving their quality of life, and overall health. I was also involved in my sister's childhood eating disorder treatment, which naturally sparked my interest in learning about intuitive eating and how I could teach others to have a positive relationship with food. With all of this, I now specialize in working with clients looking to lose weight, including those who have undergone bariatric surgery, as well as prenatal/postpartum moms, folks with gestational diabetes, and people looking improve their overall health and fitness. My personal experiences, as well as my desire to want to help others live a healthy life, have really inspired me to become a dietitian. It means a lot to me to be able to teach others about consuming a balanced diet to meet specific health goals, as well as how to have a positive relationship with food without restriction or deprivation.
Hobbies
I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, and I look forward to our daily walks and trips to the park. In my free time, I love listening to podcasts, baking with my daughter, trying out new recipes and exercising (dancing, running and yoga are some of my favorite ways to be active!)
