What to expect in your first session with this dietitian?
Our initial session is really a “get-to-know-you” session. The first half of the session will dive into questions about your health, your goals, your family/hobbies/lifestyle, and ultimately give me a good overview of you as an individual. From there, we will look at your typical “day of eating” and come up with a structured meal plan to follow for the next 1-2 weeks. I will give options for all meals and snacks that you can choose from, all of which you have approved! I will never tell you to eat something you do not like or cut anything out of your diet that you absolutely love. Everything fits in our plan!

Approach to care

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 8 years of counseling experience specializing in weight loss, diabetes management and heart disease. After completing my bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, I earned my master’s degree in nutrition as well. I enjoy helping people learn to balance their love of food while achieving their individualized health and lifestyle goals. Personally, I have always had a deep passion for nutrition and fitness. I once became a bodybuilding competitor and went through a rigorous multi-week training routine, requiring me to lose a significant amount of body fat while maintaining muscle mass. While I prefer a more balanced lifestyle with food and exercise for long-term, this experience tought be a great deal and has helped me to related more closely to the clients I work with.

Hobbies

When I’m not chasing my toddler around parks and coffee shops, you can usually find me in a gym or researching restaurant menus for my next date night out. Life is all about balance, so while I do enjoy a good weight lifting/cardio session, I do consider myself a HUGE foodie that appreciates all types of cuisine. Favorite type of food you ask? Mediterranean and Italian BY FAR (pass me the homemade pasta!)
