What to expect in your first session with this dietitian?
In our first session, we'll discuss what you are looking for support with, what your motivation is to make changes and what your long term goals are. I'll ask questions around your medical history, history and relationship with food and what a typical day of eating looks like. During out talk, I'll provide education and answer questions that may come up along the way. We'll wrap up our session talking about breaking down your long term goal into smaller, attainable goals to work on building from each week and pick 1 or 2 things to start working on until we meet again. While I will guide sessions and have ideas, I believe in a client focused approach. I'm here to support you in meeting and sustaining your goals!

Approach to care

I am a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist with over 18 years of nutrition counseling experience. I work as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) and am certified in Adult Weight Management. Personally, I have helped friends and family members manage their chronic diseases, such as diabetes. I also have twins, whom I work with to expand their food choices while also making sure they get the balanced nutrition they need. My specialty includes working with those struggling with their relationship with food, assistance with weight management, diabetes, renal disease, co-occurring disorders and overall health and well-being.

Hobbies

Life is busy, so I enjoy anything simple, basic and relaxing. Some of my favorite things to do are baking, hiking/biking/running (yes, those are relaxing for me!), late night reading and watching a good movie. My days end best with books on the couch with my kids and snuggles for my 2 dogs and cat.

More About This Dietitian

I take a direct and supportive approach to my clients that stems primarily from three components: healthy at every size, everything in moderation, and healthy and intuitive exercise. By staying on the leading edge of ED treatments and therapies, I work hard to provide a vast “toolkit” to help you with your needs.
